  • Merrill Ph.D. Students, Faculty to Present 16 Papers at AEJMC National Conference

    COLLEGE PARK -- Several Ph.D. students and faculty from the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism have been invited to present their peer-reviewed research at the national virtual conference of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) this week, from Aug. 4-7.  Sixteen total papers from Merrill College researchers were chosen.

    By Matt Gilpin, Maryland Athletics Staff Writer With long bus rides, unglamorous meals, and hours upon hours of working, minor league baseball players have to scratch and claw every day to make their dreams come true.  The University of Maryland has put a number of ballplayers into the minor leagues with the latest being pitcher Sean Burke and shortstop Benjamin Cowles. Not only has Maryland become a place that sends players to the next level, but it starts student broadcasters on their careers too.
