Journalism Alumni-Student Career Week 2022: Informational Interviews and Panels

Merrill students at CNN in Washington

Journalism Alumni-Student Career Week is back!

During the week of Feb. 21-25, the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism will be hosting informational interviews with alumni working in a host of journalism- and media-related fields, as well as a series of virtual panel discussions featuring alumni beginning this week.

More than 80 Merrill graduates (click here for a complete list of participants and their bios) have made themselves available to our current students for 30-minute informational interviews, where students can speak with alumni about their professional experience and get career advice via a phone call, Zoom or on another platform.

Rather than sign up for specific times as in past years, students will sign up to speak with one or more alums and then connect with them to set up a meeting time during career week. Meeting spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to sign up for informational interviews is Sunday, Feb. 20.

For more information, contact Katie Aune, Assistant Dean for External Relations, at kaune@umd.edu.
