April Newton
aanewton@umd.eduApril Newton is a doctoral candidate researching the experience of sexual harassment for women journalists and how it shapes their advice for professional practice. Newton’s Ph.D. cognate is women’s studies, and her research is feminist and intersectional.
Newton teaches full-time, non-tenure track at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. She teaches journalism and mass communication courses, including the senior journalism capstone course. She has developed multiple Diversity & Justice courses, including Media Ethics, inspired by her research interests and commitment to feminist, anti-racist education.
