Ijeoma Opara
vopara@umd.eduIjeoma Opara is a doctoral student at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism, interested in the influence of technologies and institutional language on journalistic framing and public perception.
She earned her master’s degree as a Howard fellow at Merrill College, focusing on data journalism and artificial intelligence for investigative reporting.
Before beginning graduate studies, she worked as a reporter at the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) in Abuja, Nigeria, where she covered gender issues, education and other beats.
