Kate DeBlasis

Kate DeBlasis graduated from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism in 2021 and became the school’s first communications visuals coordinator in September 2023.

As a student, DeBlasis focused on visual mediums, specifically motion graphics and video production, and won two Hearst Journalism Awards for her senior capstone project. In addition to her journalism studies, she minored in French studies and international development and conflict management.

After graduating, DeBlasis freelanced as a production assistant, video editor and graphic designer. In 2022, she returned to Merrill College part-time as a communications visuals assistant before joining full-time in her current role.
