Sofía Uriagereka Herburger is a graduate student from Washington, D.C. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and participated in their Bachelor of Philosophy program through the Anthropology department, where she conducted research on forced adoptions in post-civil war Ireland and Iberia. While completing her bachelor's, she worked as a columnist for the opinions desk at The Pitt News, covering international and domestic politics.

After graduating in 2024, she worked in the reproductive rights space in a policy capacity at the state and federal level for two years.

She remains interested in examining how dynamics of gender, class, community and identity evolve in “post-conflict” areas, and hopes to one day work as an investigative journalist.
