Students at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism get the unique opportunity to learn from an exceptional, nationally recognized faculty that has combined to win an astounding 14 Pulitzer Prizes and five Peabody Awards. With this instruction, many #MerrillMade graduates have also gone on to win the top awards in journalism.

Six Merrill faculty members have won multiple Pulitzers: Kathy Best (two), Dr. Ira Chinoy (two), Marty Kaiser (three), Deborah Nelson (three), Dana Priest (two) and James Risen (two).

Three Merrill faculty members have won Peabodys for multimedia storytelling: Tom Bettag (two), Dr. Mark Feldstein (two) and Priest.
