    COLLEGE PARK -- Five projects by students at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism earned 2020-2021 Student Production Awards from the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

  • Merrill Ph.D. Student Shannon Scovel Wins Robert K. Barney Graduate Student Essay Award

    Shannon Scovel, a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, won the Robert K. Barney Graduate Student Essay Award from the Center for Sociocultural Sport and Olympic Research, which publishes the Journal of Olympic Studies.
