Washington Post's Krissah Thompson '02, Student Camryn DeLuca To Speak At Merrill's Winter 2020 Commencement
COLLEGE PARK (12/17/20) -- Krissah Thompson, The Washington Post’s first managing editor for diversity and inclusion, and graduating senior Camryn DeLuca will be the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism’s winter commencement speakers, Dean Lucy A. Dalglish announced.
COLLEGE PARK (12/15/20) -- Professor Kevin Klose, former dean at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, announced he will retire at the end of the Fall 2020 semester. Klose, 80, has taught at Merrill College since serving as dean from 2009 to 2012. He taught journalism as literature, ethics and leadership courses for Merrill College and for the university’s honors program.
By Annie Dankelson Maryland Today Six weeks after facing each other in Game 4 of the 2020 World Series, former Terps Brandon Lowe and Adam Kolarek met again last night, this time swinging at questions from Mark Hyman, director of UMD’s Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism. Hyman wasn’t throwing softballs, either, when he asked Lowe, the Tampa Bay Rays’ second baseman, what it was like to be struck out by Kolarek, a relief pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
