COLLEGE PARK (5/4/20) — Heather Kim ’20, a senior Broadcast Journalism major at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism and an Asian American Studies minor, has won one of the 39th Annual University of Maryland Student Leadership Awards.
Merrill College Master's Student Riin Aljas '20 Awarded Scripps Howard Fellowship
COLLEGE PARK (4/17/20) — Riin Aljas ’20, a master’s student at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, has been awarded a 2020-21 Scripps Howard Fellowship in data reporting. The Scripps Howard Fellowship is a 12-month program in conjunction with the Scripps Washington Bureau/Newsy and ProPublica’s New York City newsroom.
UMD Student Journalists Win 13 SPJ Mark Of Excellence Awards
COLLEGE PARK (4/14/20) — The University of Maryland and the Philip Merrill College of Journalism were well-represented as the Society of Professional Journalists recognized the best collegiate journalism in Region 2 with its 2019 Mark of Excellence Awards winners this week.
