Merrill College Establishes Dean’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Endowed Scholarship in Journalism, Funded by $100,000 Gift
COLLEGE PARK — The University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism has established the Dean’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Endowed Scholarship in Journalism, thanks to a $100,000 gift from two anonymous donors. Beginning in fall 2023, the merit-based scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students at Merrill College, with preference given to first-generation college students or for the purpose of enhancing diversity at the school, including but not limited to racial or gender diversity.
