  • Shutterbug & Share: Learn the art of photojournalism, explore around campus and craft photo essays that tell the stories behind beloved Terps traditions.
  • Interview & Podcast Production: Learn how to conduct compelling interviews, and turn them into engaging podcasts and radio reports.
  • Lights, Camera, Action: Create Short Films! Learn from filmmaking experts about video sequencing, capturing key moments and creating your own short film.
  • Social Savvy Stories: Harness the power of social media platforms to share your stories, and experiment with data visualization and animation to make your stories stand out.
  • Portfolio Power: Showcase Your Work! Compile your digital stories into a personalized online portfolio and celebrate with your fellow storytellers!

This is YOUR chance to:

  • Learn from Merrill College mentors and media professionals.
  • Make new friends who share your passion for storytelling.
  • Explore the world around you in a whole new way, while learning about UMD.
  • Build a digital portfolio to showcase your creativity.
