Associate Dean Rafael Lorente Appointed to ACEJMC Accrediting Committee
COLLEGE PARK – Rafael Lorente, the associate dean for academic affairs at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, has been appointed to the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) Accrediting Committee.
Merrill Broadcast Lecturer Tom Bettag to Join NATAS' Prestigious Gold Circle
Internationally renowned broadcast journalist Tom Bettag, a lecturer at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, will be inducted into the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ prestigious Gold Circle this year.
Merrill College to Hold Zoom Commencement Ceremony on Dec. 22 at 10 a.m.
COLLEGE PARK -- The University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism announced Friday it will hold its December 2021 commencement via a live Zoom ceremony at the time of the originally scheduled in-person ceremony. The University of Maryland canceled all in-person commencement activities because of the current spread of COVID. Merrill College will hold the live Zoom commencement on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. All graduating students and Merrill faculty are invited to wear their gowns.
