Recruiting Journalists and Journalism Experts for Study on Online News Headlines

Dr. Naeemul Hassan, an assistant professor jointly appointed at the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism and College of Information Studies, is inviting journalists and journalism experts to participate in a study about online news headlines. The study is being conducted by a team of researchers at Merrill College and the Info College at the University of Maryland. The goal of this study is to understand the relationship between news headlines and content.

The interview will be conducted virtually over Zoom and audio recorded. Researchers will first conduct a short interview, and then ask participants to read four articles (no more than 500 words each) and ask questions about them. The whole interview process should last no more than an hour at most (including reading the articles). Participants will be provided with $30 compensation after completing the interview.

Those who have professional or academic experience in journalism and live in the United States are invited to participate in the study. If you wish to participate, please fill out this google form. It will take you no more than five minutes to complete the form.

If you have any questions, please contact Hassan at nhassan@umd.edu.
