Scripps Howard Foundation Establishes Roy W. Howard Fellowships at UMD, ASU Centers for Investigative Journalism
CINCINNATI (9/21/20) – Furthering its investment in aspiring investigative journalists, the Scripps Howard Foundation has pledged up to $1.5 million to establish a fellowship program in honor of legendary journalist and news executive Roy W. Howard.

(UPDATED 8/28/20) 1. Will Knight Hall be available for journalism students to use as a study space this fall? Will the News Bubble be open? Our goal throughout the coming semester is to keep our students, staff and faculty members healthy. Knight Hall will be fully open in the fall for the courses being taught either face-to-face or in a hybrid format. While there may be a few evening courses held in Knight Hall, the building will normally be open only during general business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Merrill College Master's Student Riin Aljas '20 Awarded Scripps Howard Fellowship
COLLEGE PARK (3/XX/20) — Riin Aljas ’20, a master’s student at the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, has been awarded a 2020-21 Scripps Howard Fellowship in data reporting, the organization announced XX. The Scripps Howard Fellowship is a 12-month program in conjunction with the Scripps Washington Bureau/Newsy and ProPublica’s New York City newsroom.
